The Wings For Life World Run, billed as ‘the world’s most inclusive running event’ returns on May 7th, 2023. This year’s event celebrates a decade of people across the globe walking, pushing and running at the same time to raise funds and awareness for spinal cord research.
‘On the 10th anniversary, the event will be celebrating all entrants looking to encapsulate the spirit of ‘Your Run, Your Distance, Your Finish Line’ where all participants start at exactly the same time, 12 pm BST, to walk, push or run at their own pace to make it as far as they can.
‘There is no finish line. Instead, half an hour after the start signal, the virtual finish line also known as the ’Catcher Car’, voiced by a well known celebrity, starts moving and overtaking the participants one by one. Once the ‘Catcher Car’ has virtually caught up to you, your race will be finished.’
The latest Wings for Life World Run App version is available in Apple and Google Play Store. It will be possible to run individually, or to join one of the many Organised App Runs. A special feature of the App is the audio experience, which informs, motivates and entertains participants during the run, including the virtual ‘Catcher Car’ voice.
Those who sign up before March 25th will receive a premium technical training t-shirt for free. Also, those signing up by February 15th will receive a free voucher to bring a friend. Here, Phillips Sport Headphones covers the additional entry free to support the spinal cord charity.
100% of all entry fees and donations go to spinal cord research and help to find a cure for spinal cord injury. This is made possible by Red Bull and the partners of the Wings for Life World Run, who will be covering all administrative costs associated with the run. Participants are also encouraged to fundraise for the cause.
