1,500 meters of swimming, 29 kilometers on a mountain bike and 9 kilometers of off road running to finish the race: that was what awaited athletes competing in the Xterra Asia-Pacific Championship. The race was dominated by Frenchmen: in the men’s race, the win went to Arthur Forissier and in the women’s race to Alizee Paties.
For Forissier, the victory was more than welcome, as his last Xterra victory dates back to 2019 when he won Xterra France, Xterra Switzerland and Xterra Italy. Now he can add to that the Asia-Pacific Championship: he finished after 2:36:39, staying more than a minute ahead of Spaniard Ruben Ruzafa, who finished in a time of 2:37:45. Dane Jens Emil Sloth Nielsen finished third in 2:41:11.
Alizee Paties continues her strong streak from last year: last October she won Xterra Tahiti and earlier in the year she also won Xterra Short Track Germany, Xterra Lake Scanno and Xterra Greece. She won the race in Taiwan in a time of 3:06:30. Her compatriot Solenne Billouin finished second in a time of 3:08:42 and Switzerland’s Loanne Duvoisin was third in 3:09:04.
