Pro cyclist Bauke Mollema loves not only cycling, but also running; he previously made it known that he wants to run a marathon in the future and now we can start preparing for lightning-fast times already. Mollema was at the start of yesterday’s prestigious Monaco Run and ran 31:40 minutes over 10 kilometers.
It was striking that Mollema had time to hand out high-fives to the public while running and crossed the finish line visibly tireless. Mollema finished fourth overall, but won his Age Group category. Mollema ran an average speed of 3:09 minutes per kilometer.
Mollema is not the first pro cyclist to prove successful in running. Recently, for example, Tom Dumoulin caused a stir by running the Amsterdam half marathon in 1:10. However, Dumoulin is no longer an active cycling pro, while Mollema is.
