Zwift has joined up with Sir Chris Hoy’s ‘Tour de 4’ as a founding partner – with virtual rides to be held on the platform until August 2025. Zwift will also match all charitable donations made by the community up to 60,000 euro
The Tour de 4 is an initiative launched by Sir Chris Hoy to change the perception of people living with stage 4 cancer, and to raise vital funds for cancer charities across the UK. Tour de 4 also aims to be a means for those affected by cancer to connect with others.
The Tour de 4 will be held on Zwift from February 8th through to August 2025. Zwift is encouraging as many people as possible to join the rides and to donate to the cancer charities that mean the most to them, with Zwift matching all donations made by the community up to 60,000 euro
“A huge thank you to the team at Zwift for their investment and support,” said 6x Olympic Champion and Level 70 Zwifter, Sir Chris Hoy.
“Tour de 4 is all about bringing people together, and Zwift is the perfect platform to do this. I get so much out of my Zwift rides, meeting and engaging with a brilliant community. I’m particularly excited to have a few special guests confirmed; so come and join us if you can – you never know who you might end up riding alongside!”
Sir Chris Hoy was joined on February 8th by special guests including Philip Hindes, Duncan Scott, Lucy Charles-Barclay, Sam Laidlow, and Freddy Ovett. Designed as a Saturday social ride, the group rolled out of the virtual starting pens for a 45 minute spin around the Tempus Fugit course on Watopia.
Rides will run fortnightly on Zwift until the end of May before switching to a monthly cadence through the summer months of June, July and August ahead of September 7, 2025 when thousands of cyclists will gather together in Scotland for the final event of the Tour de 4.
