As the European triathlon season gradually approaches its conclusion, one of the latest stops took place this weekend in Ceuta, Spain, where athletes battled for honors at the Europe Triathlon Cup Ceuta. France’s Louis Vitiello claimed the men’s title, while Ana Carballo Gómez delighted the home crowd by winning the women’s race.
In the men’s race, Vitiello crossed the line first in 54:09, delivering a strong all-around performance to secure the victory. He was followed by Spaniards Vicente Hernandez in 54:27 and Eloy Canales Escribano in 54:38, rounding out a competitive podium dominated by Southern European talent.
The women’s race was also largely a Spanish affair. Ana Carballo Gómez stormed to victory in 1:02:07, with Italy’s Asia Mercatelli just seven seconds behind to take silver in 1:02:14.
