It was a perfect Sunday in Toulouse for Jeanne Lehair – not only did she storm to victory in the Supertri, but the celebration that followed turned into one of the most memorable moments of her life.
Lehair, who now competes for Luxembourg but originally is from Toulouse, France, crossed the finish line first in front of a home crowd that knows her well. Yet the real highlight of the day came moments later, when her boyfriend – now fiancé – Nathan Lessmann dropped to one knee and proposed.
“Oh my god, I was not ready for this at all,” Lehair said afterward, still overwhelmed with emotion. “Nathan isn’t the kind of person who likes big shows, so I was completely surprised. I couldn’t believe what was happening. This is truly a day I’ll never forget.”
With the $50,000 prize money from her Supertri win, Lehair now has a head start on planning what promises to be a beautiful wedding – the perfect finish to an unforgettable weekend.
