It may no longer come as a surprise – yet the achievement remains nothing short of remarkable. This weekend, at the annual Sailfish Night of the Year gala, Challenge Roth was once again awarded “Race of the Year,” marking a record fourteenth consecutive win.

With a commanding 51% of the votes, Challenge Roth outpaced other heavyweight contenders – including the World Championship races in Hawaii and Nice, which finished second and third with 18% and 11% respectively.

The Sailfish Night is not only a celebration of triathlon’s greatest races – it also honours individual performances. This year’s international top-tier athletes recognised at the event were: women Solveig Lovseth, Lucy Charles-Barclay and Kat Matthews; men Casper Stornes, Kristian Blummenfelt and Hayden Wilde.

Meanwhile, on the German front, the honours went to Laura Philipp and Jonas Schomburg, named National Athletes of the Year.

In addition to the Long Distance race of the Year, the event recognised the best Short Distance and Middle Distance races: the Short Distance honour went to World Triathlon Hamburg, while the Middle Distance crown was awarded to Allgäu Triathlon.
