Although he broke the record a few days before the end of 2025, the news only surfaced later: German athlete Sebastian Trimborn has officially set a new Guinness World Record by riding 538 kilometers in 12 hours on Zwift.
The delayed announcement was likely due to the time required for the record to be formally verified. Regardless, Trimborn’s performance was not just about endurance, but also remarkable speed. Covering 538 kilometers in 12 hours translates to an average speed of just under 45 km/h.
The previous record, held by Matthew Lefthard at 530 kilometers, was surpassed by an impressive eight kilometers, cementing Trimborn’s place in the record books.
