When Cameron Wurf was presented as a new addition to Team Ineos earlier this year, mainly because Vasil Kiryienka had to end his cycling career due to heart problems, Wurf spoke of something ‘temporary’ because he wanted to keep his focus on triathlon. Of course the Australian uberbiker still is focussing on triathlon, but that doesn’t stop him from continuing to ride in the peloton from time to time next year. “I look forward to race with the team again. I would love to ride another big course”, he commented at Bicycling Australia.
Wurf recently completed the Vuelta, where he finished 95th. He also finished 79th in the Brabantse Pijl. Wurf says his main focus will remain triathlon with Hawaii as his highlighted race.
