The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has partnered with Triathlon Canada and Canadian race organizers Trisport Events to provide US$15,000 in prize money along with media and marketing support for The Subaru Chase on June 19, 2021.

The race will feature a “chase” format that will see the pro women head off at a pre-determined time ahead of the pro men. The prize money will be awarded to the top-three pro men and women, with a bonus to the top three overall finishers across the finish line. The event is slated to take place during the Subaru Triathlon Series event at Guelph Lake Conservation Area.

The Subaru Triathlon Series has a rich history of “Chase” events – from 2004 to 2006 the company put on the “Muskoka Chase” in Huntsville that featured some of the sport’s biggest names including Olympic gold-medalist Simon Whitfield, Ironman world champion Craig Alexander, Ironman 70.3 world champion Samantha McGlone, along with Ironman champions Lisa Bentley, Tereza Macel, Tom Evans and Jasper Blake.

The race course will include a two-loop 1,500-m swim, a three-loop 45-km bike course and a three-loop 12-km run.
