Add another big name to the deboer wetsuit pro list – 2012 Olympic gold medalist Nicola Spirig has joined the likes of Jan Frodeno, Lauren Brandon, Gustav Iden and Kristian Blummenfelt (amongst others) on the impressive list of athletes wearing deboer wetsuits and speedsuits.
Spirig is one of the most decorated Olympic triathletes ever thanks to her gold and silver (2016) medals. She’s also a six-time European champion and multiple half-distance winner, including a brilliant win at Challenge Gran Canaria last weekend. The Swiss star is aiming to compete in a fifth Olympics this summer and has committed to attempting to become the first woman to go sub-8 hours for a full-distance triathlon next year.
“I am very excited about this partnership with deboer,” Spirig said. “I look forward to working together on a new wetsuit specially designed for the Sub-8 project. With my feedback, and the knowledge and experience from deboer, we will develop the fastest possible suit to break 8-hours.”
