On November 12, 2021, Israel will host its first Ironman race – today the company announced Ironman 70.3 Tiberias, which will be set on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. The new event will feature 40 qualifying slots for the 2022 Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Taupo, New Zealand.

The 1.9 km swim will take place in the Sea of Galilee, the lowest freshwater lake in the world, followed by a 90 km bike that initially heads south of Tiberisu to Tzemach junction before heading east and north of the Sea of Galilee to Kfar Nahum. The flat, fast run course will go along the western short of the Sea of Galilee.

“As the local organizers it is a dream come true to bring an IRONMAN 70.3 event to Israel. Our country has become a favorite destination for multiple very successful sports events, and we are looking forward to adding many more,” said Daniel Benaim, founder & CEO of local organizers, Comtecgroup.

Registration for the event opens on July 1. You can find more information here.
