The Ironman Group has announced that Geoff Meyer has been named the company’s new Managing Director for Oceania. “Meyer brings to the position a significant wealth of experience and knowledge through his almost 20 years in the mass participation sports industry working in every facet from operations, race directing, marketing, finance, and sponsorships.”
Geoff Meyer is a familiar face for the region, having served as Managing Director from 2012-2016, before taking on assignment to lead The Ironman Group in the Asia Region. In the new role, he will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Oceania business unit for The IronmanGroup, leading the four Oceania offices (Melbourne, Sydney Noosa and Auckland) and the more than 65 full-time employees.
“We are fortunate to have Geoff move seamlessly into a region he has a great deal of knowledge of and a history of successful leadership in,” said Andrew Messick, President & Chief Executive Officer for Ironman. “Geoff has been critical to the growth and development of the Asia-Pacific region for the company since 2012, and we know he will continue the great work that the team in Oceania has done while he focused on developing the Asia region for the past five years.”
