Ironman made a big mistake on October 16 by not adhering to some ‘fundamental points of the waste law’ during Ironman Mallorca. The organization will now regret this, because Medi Ambient agents have now issued a fine of no less than 75,000 euros.

The fundamental points of the waste law that Ironman failed to comply with during the race in mid-October are mandatory on the Spanish island for organizers of sporting events. The most important point is that waste must be properly separated, and that clearly did not happen. Failure to comply with this rule is considered very serious on Mallorca. In addition, reusable bottles and/or cups were not used at aid stations. Ironman has ten days to appeal the fine.

Ironman did not make itself very popular on the island anyway, by organizing their race on the same day as Challenge Mallorca.
