At the Asia Triathlon Cup in Doha, Jawad Abdelmoula won – just like last week in Dahkla. The Moroccan won the Olympic distance in 1:42:48. Among the women, the race was dominated by three Japanese ladies. The fastest was Juri Ide.
Abdelmoula needed 17:31 minutes for his swim, 53:17 minutes for his bike and 31:17 minutes for his run. With his final time of 1:42:48, he ended up twenty seconds ahead of British Ben Dijkstra, who came in second. The bronze was for Aoboa Yasumatu; the Japanese finished almost thirty seconds behind the winner.
The women’s race was won by Juri Ide, who crossed the finish line after 1:56:54. Her compatriot Chisato Nakajima became second after 1:57:19. Minori Ikeno, who won in Dakhla last week, became third after 1:58:14.
