Ironman returns to Mont-Tremblant

Earlier this year it looked as though Ironman might not be putting on some of its most popular events in the popular Quebec ski resort, Mont-Tremblant. After Ironman cancelled the 2021 events, it either refunded the entry fees or allowed athletes to switch their entries to a different race while it was “working diligently on all potential future year options” while it worked to renegotiate its contract with the resort.

It would appear that things finally got resolved as priority registration for the three races Ironman puts on in Mont-Tremblant opened today. Initially Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant was announced to be taking place on June 19, 2022, but just before registration opened the date was moved back a week to June 26, 2022. That’s likely to allow the water temperature in the lake to warm up a bit more. The 5150 race will take place the day before, June 25. Click here for more information.

Ironman Mont-Tremblant will take place on Aug. 21, 2022. You can find out more information on the race and register here.

Since the first races took place in Mont-Tremblant in 2012 they have become some of the most popular events on the Ironman calendar. The Ironman 70.3 race routinely fills in hours, while the Ironman race routinely reaches full-capacity as well. Mont-Tremblant was also the first venue to hold an Ironman World Championship outside of the United States when it hosted the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in 2014, beginning the global rotation of the 70.3 worlds.
