Ironman is busy expanding their 2022 race calendar. After announcing new races in Norway and Greece, earlier this week, the organization just added another event to the program: Ironman 70.3 Poznan, Poland. The race will take place for the first time on Sep. 4, 2022.

It’s already the third Polish city where Ironman organizes a race. The other two cities are Gdynia and Warsaw. However, there is even more to choose for athletes who like to race in Poland, because Challenge Family also organizes an event in the country: Challenge Gdansk.

According to Ironman, athletes will be treated with a stunning swim-, bike- and run course. Both for the Ironman 70.3 Poznan, and Ironman 5150 Poznan – which takes place in the same weekend –  the course will be flat and fast, and the transition areas will be in the city center of Poznan. The finish will also be celebrated in town.

“We are glad to add the Ironman 70.3 Poznan and 5150 Poznan to our Ironman Poland portfolio”, Race Director Michal Dreclich said. “It’s another milestone for the modern Polish triathlon scene but also a tribute to its history as the swim will take place in the Lake Kierskie, home to the very first triathlon competition in Poland which was held in 1984.”
