The PTO just welcomed two pro triathletes to their Athlete Board for 2022 and 2023: Britain’s Laura Siddall and America’s Matt Hanson. They will join America’s Timothy O’Donnell, who was just re-elected, and Paula Findlay (CAN), Skye Moench (USA) and Alistair Brownlee (GBR), who were already members of the PTO Athlete Board.
Siddall, who openly questioned the PTO Ranking System a few times, commented to be excited to start sharing her ideas with the Athlete Board: “Excited and honored to have been voted onto the PTO Athlete Board. Thank you to everyone who voted, but also to the other women who put their names forward, it shows there is a lot of passion out there to be part of the change in the PTO. It’s exciting times for the sport, and I hope I can truly represent all members of the PTO in driving a better sport for all of us and future generations to come.”
Hanson stated that he’s looking forward to representing his “peers” on the PTO Athlete Board. “Over the last few years, the PTO has transformed the sport for all professional athletes. I have enjoyed the benefits from this as an athlete and am happy to be able to give back by serving on the Board.””
“I am absolutely honored to be re-elected to the PTO’s Athlete Board”, O’Donnell commented. “I’ve been a part of the PTO since it’s inception, and I’m excited to support the organization as we continue to grow the sport. The next two years are going to be incredibly exciting as we launch the PTO Tour, I’m grateful for the trust of our athletes as we make these events reality and make sporting history in the process.”
While the PTO welcomed two members on board, four athletes will leave the committee: Rachel Joyce (GBR), Meredith Kessler (USA), Sarah Pampiano (USA) and Scott Defilippis (USA).
