It’s a long shot, of course, but it could just be that Frenchman Leo Bergere is into gaming. After just having a great day, winning Ironman 70.3 Lanzarote (make sure to read our race report here) he wrote on his socials “winner winner, chicken dinner”.
This phrase is especially popular among gamers who play so-called ‘Battle Royale’ games, where an average of a hundred players are dropped onto a large open world and one is eventually left standing. That player is of course the winner of the game, who got a message on his screen which says ‘winner winner, chicken dinner’.
