Organizations and/or cities can submit ‘bids’ effective immediately to host the 2024 and 2025 World Triathlon Championship Finals, as well as the 2025 World Triathlon Sprint & Relay Championships, the 2025 World Triathlon Multisport Championships and, in addition, the World Triathlon Championships Series races, World Triathlon Cups, World Triathlon Para Triathlon events, World Triathlon Winter Championships & Cups and World Triathlon Multisport Cups in 2023.
The latter, World Triathlon Multisport Cups, are new. It’s a bit remarkable that World Triathlon posts this news very small, inconspicuous and almost at the bottom of a long post about all the races organizers can place a bid on to organize. “Following on from the success of the Multisport World Championships, the Multisport Cups will be held throughout the season, with events providing new opportunities for top Elite athletes to compete for prize money, as well as mass participation Age Group races, in multisport disciplines outside of the standard and sprint-distance triathlons. To be considered to host such an event, organisers must offer two of the following events; Long Distance Triathlon including Aquabike, Duathlon, Cross Triathlon, Cross Duathlon and Aquathlon.
