In 2016 Jan Frodeno set the fastest time ever on a Long Distance at Challenge Roth (7:35:39) and in 2020 he was supposed to return at the most popular race in Germany. Unfortunately it didn’t happen that year due to COVID restrictions, but in less than four weeks Frodeno will return to Roth.

On July 3, Challenge Roth is scheduled to take place and now – so quite shortly before the race – Frodeno was announced as one of the participating top athletes. During Challenge Roth Frodeno will have to deal with Germans Patrick Lange and Sebastian Kienle, but also with the American Sam Long and Dane Magnus Ditlev.

“In the last few months I’ve noticed I need a set goal again and there is no more fantastic race than Roth. The spectators and the whole community there are just overwhelming. I hope to see as many fans there as possible. After my injury, I will be very careful and pull the plug if I have to and get out. But I don’t even want to think about that yet. I’m just looking forward to a great race. See you on the start line!”
