Sam Long: ‘This penalty call may go down in history as one of the most severe’

After he received a very remarkable penalty at the World Championship Ironman 70.3, forcing him to wait on the sidelines for five minutes and thus losing the prospect of a top ranking, Sam Long let it be known that he was going to let it all sink in for a while before he wanted to respond (though he already let it be known that he was drowning in anger and sadness, ed.) on the situation. Clearly now was the time to respond and his words are clear: “This was one of the toughest days of my life and this penalty call may go down in history as one of the most severe.”
