Alistair Brownlee is appointed as a board member to the British Olympic Foundation (BOF). The BOF is the charitable arm of the British Olympic Association, responsible for the development of the Olympic Movement, its ideals and values and encouraging participation and awareness of Olympic sport within the UK.

The Foundation aims to create learning opportunities for young people through sport as well as education to encourage personal development, fair play and personal excellence. “I am delighted to share my appointment. The inspiring effect of the Olympic Movement and the values embodied by Olympism changed my life. The BOF has the privileged and important role of promoting these values to the young people of Britain. I’m very excited to work with the BOF to fulfill these aims, carry on the work I’ve already been doing with The Brownlee Foundation and provide more opportunities for young people to improve their overall health and well-being through being more active.
