Gwen Jorgensen announces comeback, aiming for Olympics

Gwen Jorgenson

She became World Champion in 2014 and 2015, Olympic champion in 2016, not to mention the almost endless list of smaller victories that Gwen Jorgensen achieved. The American athlete eventually quit triathlon to focus more on running, but has now announced her comeback. She is making that comeback because she wants to compete for America in the Olympic Mixed Team Relay at the Paris Olympics, 2024.

“I am thrilled to announce my return to the blue carpet. I’m collaborating with my team to return to form and look forward to the work ahead as I invest in myself and USA Triathlon. I am inspired by the mixed-team relay’s silver medal in Tokyo and aspire to contribute to that team in 2024. I believe team USA can be one step higher in Paris! This return is about more than just me.”
