Inaugural Ironman 70.3 Buenos Aires set for October 2023

Ironman has confirmed that the neighbourhood of Palermo in Buenos Aires, Argentina, will host the IRONMAN 70.3 Buenos Aires triathlon for the first time. The inaugural outing for the event is set to take place on Sunday, October 29, 2023. It has also been announced that Palermo will continue to host the 5150 Buenos Aires triathlon on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

We look forward to welcoming people from around the world to compete in the new Ironman 70.3 Buenos Aires and 5150 Palermo triathlons and enjoy this cosmopolitan, bustling South American city.”

The Ironman 70.3 Buenos Aires triathlon will start with a 1.9 km (1.2-mile) swim in Palermo Lake. Once out of the water, athletes will transition onto the bike for 90 km (56-mile) of cycling on the Figueroa Alcorta Ave, Lugones Ave, and Madero Ave route before capping off their race with a 21.1 km (13.1-mile) run through the streets of Palermo and a finish line at the statue of the Palermo Woods, a popular urban park and tourism destination.

The 5150 Buenos Aires triathlon will begin with a 1.5 km (0.93 mile) swim in Palermo Lake. After exiting the water, athletes will take on the 40 km (24.85 mile) of cycling on the Figueroa Alcorta Ave, and Lugones Ave route before capping off their race with a 10 km (6.2 mile) run through the streets of Palermo also finishing at the statue of the Palermo Woods.
