Chrissie Wellington won 13 of her 13 Long Distances, is a four-time World Champion Ironman, set the fastest time ever on a Long Distance and, most likely just as beautiful, still knows what winning is all about. Last weekend she won the leaden Zugspits Trail Ultra in Germany, where she competed in the 69km Leutasch Trail.

During that 69km, Wellington had nearly 3.000 meters of elevation gain to overcome and in the end she won the race in 8:25:26. That left her just ahead of Hannah Kilgenstein, who crossed the finish line after 8:27:35. Lisa Schäller finished third in 8:38:49.

“Just when I thought my winning days were over, this happens. Surprised, proud, slightly broken and totally elated after winning the 69k Leutasch trail at the Zugspitz Trail Ultra.”
