After a disappointing last edition – which saw particularly few athletes at the start line – there no longer seems to be a future for Ironman Lanzarote. Rumors had been circulating for some time that the race would disappear and on a “season calendar” in which Ironman presents the races of “Europe, Middle East and Africa 2024,” the race is missing.
The possible disappearance of Ironman Lanzarote Especially for Lanzarote will be a drain on many athletes; the race is considered by many athletes to be one of the most iconic races on the Ironman calendar. Still, the race has had a tough time in recent years and the organizers have seen a huge decline in entries each year. This year, the race had less than thousand participants.
