Lucy Charles-Barclay wants only one thing really badly; to win the Ironman World Championship at Kona. It is the only race that is really still on her wish list and yesterday, at least, she showed that her form is more than good, by winning the Ho’ala Swim, which kicks off the Ironman World Championship every year. Charles-Barclay was by far the fastest over the 3.8-kilometer swim.

It is always a great start to “Kona Week,” and once again more than a thousand athletes dove into the ocean to swim 3.8 kilometers. Lucy-Charles Barclay was by far the fastest, emerging from the ocean after 50:37 minutes. Rebecca Clarke was second in 53:05 and Fenella Langridge third in 53:07.
