After a jam-packed season with spectacular races in 2023, we don’t have to wait long for the race calendar to continue. This Sunday, Ironman 70.3 Pucón is already on the program and with Sam Long racing, among others, a race at the highest level immediately awaits there.

To be honest, Sam Long himself has to get used to the fact that he is already preparing for another race. “It’s a little weird to be talking about tapering rather than off season in January…..but I’m loving it.” In any case, Long is the biggest favorite in Chile. In a field that is otherwise not very large, he will face Luciano Taccone, Martin Ulloa and Igor Amorelli, among others.

In the women’s race, Barbara Riveros and Pamella Oliveira seem to be the biggest favorites. After Ironman 70.3 Pucon, it will be quiet for a while as far as races are concerned: Ironman then resumes the calendar in February while also the other major organizations such as Challenge Family, PTO, World Triathlon and SLT, have no races scheduled yet.
