For observant readers who had looked at the U.S. triathlon calendar, the news comes as no surprise, but it has now become clear that the PTO race scheduled to take place in “California” on the second weekend in June is the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon. That race is one of eight T100 races this season.
Of the T100 races (about which more here, ed.), six were already known. Of the remaining two, it was only clear that they would be in California and the Middle East (Grand Final). So, the first of those two yet-to-be-announced races involves the world-famous Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, in which athletes swim in the water around the eponymous and world-famous prison and is otherwise thus set in San Francisco.
