The numbers are somewhat striking, but in the Olympic Village for the Olympic Games in Paris next summer, as many as 300,000 condoms will be handed out to the athletes staying there. This is what Laurent Michaud, director of the Olympic Village, let Sky News know.

The Olympic Village is traditionally the place where basically all Olympians stay overnight and also spend much of their time during the day. Some 9,000 athletes are expected to stay in the Olympic Village in Paris, so that means each athlete can use about two condoms a day on average.

The Olympic Games in Paris begin July 26 and last through Aug. 11. Three years ago, when the Games were held – with a year’s delay – in Tokyo, athletes were not allowed to have any physical contact with each other because of corona measures.
