As the Paris Olympics draw ever closer, so does the time left to qualify. Today was the first deadline period in which countries could qualify for the Mixed Team Relay, and that yielded six countries that, based on the current rankings, get to go to Paris anyway.
France, Great Britain and Germany had already qualified for the Olympic Mixed Team Relay and that automatically means that these countries also get to send four athletes – two men and two women. With today’s deadline period, New Zealand, Australia, Switzerland, America, Italy and Portugal have been added as well, based on the current ranking.
