While a number of professional athletes had already secured contracts for the upcoming T100 season based on previous performances, the PTO has now also secured commitments for the upcoming season from eight athletes who did not secure contracts based on previous performances.

These include Hayden Wilde, Léo Bergere, Vincent Luis, Morgan Pearson, Taylor Spivey, Kate Waugh, Jessica Learmonth and Laura Madsen. Big names, but it is notable that the focus – with the exception of Madsen – is primarily on athletes who have proven themselves over the short distance and less over the longer distance.

The above eight athletes join the already contracted roster of athletes such as Taylor Knibb, Ashleigh Gentle, Julie Derron, Flora Duffy, Lucy Byram, India Lee, Imogen Simmonds, Paula Findlay, Marten van Riel, Kyle Smith, Rico Bogen, Sam Long, Mathis Margirier, Pieter Heemeryck, Frederic Funk and Youri Keulen.

When all the T100 races will take place this year remains unclear for the time being: a number of race dates have already been communicated, but a number of race dates have not been communicated either and in addition the PTO caused a stir very recently by changing all kinds of dates at the last minute, while participants had already arranged transportation and accommodation. According to the PTO, the upcoming season should consist of ten races and contracted athletes are required to participate in at least six of those races.
