At the annual European Triathlon Gala, where Europe Triathlon names its athletes of the year, not entirely surprisingly Cassandre Beaugrand and Alex Yee were named athletes of the year 2024. This should come as no big surprise, as both athletes won a lot of races last year and both won – by far the most important – the Olympic Triathlon in Paris.
At the annual gala, awards are handed out in several categories, but the “athlete of the year” award is of course the most prestigious. As is often the case, both winners were not on site in Turkey – where this year’s gala is taking place – and only recorded a digital message to receive their award.
