In July we are going to see quite a few Long Distance debutants at Challenge Roth – including Frederic Funk and Henri Schoeman – and another big name has just been added to that list: two-time Short Distance World Champion and Olympian Vincent Luis.

The Frenchman already made no secret of the fact that in the coming years he will focus more onLong Distance racing rather than Short Distance racing, and so on July 6 he will make his first appearance at a Long Distance. It will be a special day for him, for sure. “Twenty years ago I jumped in a car with my parents to drive all the way to Roth for my dad to do his first ever long distance, in a few months my parents will jump in their car to drive all the way to Roth to see me do my first ever long distance. The circle of life doesn’t get any better than that doesn’t it.”
