There’s no doubt you have to be a little crazy to do it, but Austrian Rainer Predl did it for a good cause: he ran laps around a lighthouse for 5:37:29, completing a marathon in that time and breaking the ‘marathon around a lighthouse world record’.

Predl completed his bizarre marathon to raise money for a children’s hospital in Podersdorf, Austria. How much money he raised is not yet clear, but he will undoubtedly be dizzy: Predl ran a whopping 3,516 laps (of 12 meters, ed.) around the lighthouse to complete his 42.2 kilometers.
