He’s done extreme things before – rowing almost five thousand kilometers across the Atlantic Ocean and biking five thousand kilometers across North America, for example – but Briton Mitch Hutchcraft has accomplished another extraordinary challenge: he finished a triathlon of over 13,000 kilometers, and on top of the the world-famous Mount Everest.

Hutchcraft, a former military man of 31, began his triathlon last September. 240 days later, he crossed the finish line of his monster journey, crossing the Canal from Dover, swimming 35 kilometers, then biking from France about 12,000 kilometers to Digha, a coastal town in eastern India, and from there he ran 900 kilometers to Nepal’s capital Kathmandu.

But, at that point his triathlon was not finished yet, because from there he hiked to the foot of Mount Everest and finally climbed the world’s highest mountain (8848 meters) as well. Speaking to the BBC, Hutchcraft talked about his toughest challenge ever.
