While the PTO is barely getting its calendar done this year, and several races keep changing dates up to several times – with Las Vegas being the most recent example – the organization did announce a new race for next year: starting in 2026, the T100 Gold Coast is on the schedule.
The T100 Gold Coast is scheduled, at least for now, for the weekend of March 21-22, 2026, and will thus take place in Australia. PTO’s choice of this date is particularly noteworthy because on the same weekend, Australia will host the very popular Ironman 70.3 Geelong.
Where in recent years it might have been thought that Ironman had much to fear from PTO, so far in practice it appears that the IM Pro Series might be more popular, at least among a much larger group of professional athletes since the T100 only accommodates twenty athletes per gender The same weekend of March 21-22 will also see the equally popular Australian triathlon Hell of the West take place.
