The Europe Triathlon Cup returned to Olsztyn, Poland, today, delivering another thrilling edition of this highly anticipated Sprint Distance event. Nestled in the picturesque Warmian-Masurian region, Olsztyn has become a familiar and beloved stop on the European triathlon circuit. The course, known for its scenic lakeside swim and a flat, fast run, once again attracted a deep and competitive field of elite athletes from across Europe.

Men’s Race: Conway Takes It in a Photo Finish Battle

The men’s race saw an incredibly dense pack of top contenders battling it out over 750 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers of biking and a 5-kilometer run. With transitions playing a pivotal role, it was Great Britain’s Oliver Conway who emerged victorious in a gripping finale, clocking a time of 53:48. Conway, known for his strong finishing kick, edged ahead in the final stretch of the run to secure his Europe Triathlon Cup victory.

Hot on his heels were Jonas Osterholt Jonas Osterholt of Germany and Pietro Giovannini of Italy. Osterholt claimed silver in 54:01, just one second ahead of Pietro Giovannini (54:02) in a sprint finish that had spectators on the edge of their seats. The top 10 men all finished within a minute of each other, underscoring the intense competition and high caliber of the field.

Women’s Race: Missaglia Clinches the Win with a Late Surge

The women’s race was equally exciting, with the top contenders staying close throughout the swim and bike segments. Ultimately, it came down to the run, where Italy’s Carlotta Missaglia showcased her experience and tactical acumen. Surging ahead in the final kilometer, Missaglia crossed the line in 58:41, adding a Europe Triathlon Cup title to her résumé.

Just two seconds behind was Sophie Alden of Great Britain, who took silver in 58:43, followed by Germany’s Franka Rust, who secured the bronze in 58:57 after a consistent performance across all three disciplines.
