Supertri Chicago 2025 delivered two thrilling Enduro races across three back-to-back mini triathlons. Spain’s Alberto Gonzalez Garcia powered to a career-best victory in the men’s field, while Luxembourg’s Jeanne Lehair executed a perfectly timed run to claim the women’s title. Both athletes gave Podium Racing a weekend to remember.
Men’s Race
Stage 1
The men’s opener started fast in choppy waters. Marcus Dey (Brownlee Racing) sprinted clear to claim the first short chute, with Gonzalez Garcia, Jonny Brownlee, and Márton Kropkó in close pursuit.
On the bike, Dey and Gonzalez Garcia pressed the pace on the technical course, edging out an eight-second lead over Brownlee and Kropkó. By T2, Gonzalez Garcia had moved into pole position, grabbing Podium Racing’s short chute.
The run saw the chasers reorganise. Mislawchuk and Pearson began closing down gaps, while Dey faded after his early efforts. Gonzalez Garcia denied rivals access to the final short chute, cementing his early advantage.
Stage 2
Gonzalez Garcia hit the water first and immediately stretched the field. Kropkó emerged ten seconds back, while Mislawchuk, Beaulieu, Reid, and Brownlee trailed within 20 seconds — but eliminations soon began to thin the pack.
On the bike it became a one-man show. Gonzalez Garcia rode solo at the front, building a 24-second margin. In the chase group, Brownlee Racing handed their short chute to Jonny, while Podium Racing gave theirs to John Reed.
A chaotic T2 saw Morgan Pearson crash and lose critical time, leaving him out of contention. Gonzalez Garcia maintained a 16-second buffer into the final swim, with Mislawchuk and Reed leading the pursuit.
Stage 3
The Spaniard never faltered. He extended his lead again in the swim and carried a comfortable gap onto the bike. Behind, Brownlee Racing had been whittled down to just Jonny Brownlee after multiple eliminations.
On the final run, Mislawchuk surged but the gap was too large. Gonzalez Garcia crossed the line in full control to secure his first Supertri win, followed by Mislawchuk and Reed on the podium.
Men’s Results
- 1. Alberto Gonzalez Garcia – 52:47
- 2. Tyler Mislawchuk +6s
- 3. John Reed +14s
- 4. Ricardo Batista +20s
- 5. Tayler Reid +30s
Women’s Race
Stage 1
The women’s field stayed tightly bunched in the opening swim, though 17-year-old Fanni Szalai (Brownlee Racing) impressed by leading out and claiming the first short chute.
On the bike the race compressed again, with just five seconds covering the top 12. In T2, Jeanne Lehair pounced, securing Podium Racing’s short chute. She then dictated the run, denying the rest access to the final short chute and ensuring the race stayed wide open.
Stage 2
Lehair led into the swim again, but Taylor-Brown, Szalai, and Rosa Maria Tapia Vidal remained close. The front group soon swelled to six with Miriam Casillas García and Desirae Ridenour joining.
Short chute nominations followed the script: Szalai for Brownlee Racing, Lehair for Podium. On the run, Casillas García surged to the front out of T2, but the high pace eventually dropped Ridenour, leaving five contenders in the mix.
Stage 3
Everything came down to the final stage. Lehair exited the water narrowly ahead of Taylor-Brown and Szalai, with Tapia Vidal and Casillas García still in contention.
The decisive moment came at T2: Lehair’s slick transition combined with her short chute allowed her to open a decisive gap. Taylor-Brown chased hard but couldn’t close it, while Szalai used her own short chute to press into third.
Lehair powered home for her third career Supertri win, with Taylor-Brown and Szalai completing the podium.
