In a move set to energize the next generation of endurance athletes, Challenge Family has introduced new student rates offering 25% off selected individual race entries for participants aged 17 to 23. The initiative reflects the series’ ongoing commitment to make Long Distance triathlon more accessible and inclusive worldwide.

For many aspiring young athletes, the financial barrier to entry can be as daunting as the training itself. With race fees often higher for long-course events, Challenge Family’s new program provides a meaningful step toward lowering that threshold – making the iconic red carpet finish line a little closer for students balancing budgets, studies, and sport.

“We want to encourage more young people to experience the unique energy and community of Challenge Family races,” said Challenge Family CEO, Jort Vlam. “This generation is typified by their commitment to exercise, not only to keep fit but also for mental health and social connection. By offering student pricing, we’re investing in the future of the sport – helping emerging athletes take their first steps on the start line, and perhaps even inspiring the champions of tomorrow.”

The 25% student discount applies to middle and long-distance races across the global Challenge Family calendar, excluding The Championship and Challenge Roth. Eligible participants simply need to provide proof of student status during registration.

Beyond the numbers, the message is clear: Challenge Family wants to build a pathway for young people to join the endurance community, not just as participants but as part of triathlon’s vibrant culture.

“Our sport thrives on community, diversity, and shared experience,” Vlam added. “By welcoming more young people into that community, we’re not just growing participation – we’re strengthening the heart of triathlon.”
