Four medals – including two gold – and a host of top-ten finishes: France was simply unstoppable at today’s Europe Triathlon Cup Alanya, proving too strong for the rest of the field. Manon Laporte claimed victory in the women’s race, while Louis Vitiello took top honors among the men.
The women’s race turned into a true French showcase, with Laporte and compatriot Mathilde Gautier battling for gold until the very end. Only two seconds separated the pair at the finish line, with Spain’s Ana Carballo Gómez taking the bronze nearly twenty seconds behind.
France’s depth of talent was on full display, as Appoline Foltz, Léonie Douche, and Elena Polaert completed the top six, securing fourth, fifth, and sixth place respectively.
While fewer French athletes broke into the top ten in the men’s race, the nation still captured two medals. Louis Vitiello took the win in a thrilling sprint finish, clocking 47:58 – just one second ahead of Denmark’s Andreas Nikolajsen. Pablo Isotton added to the French medal haul with bronze, rounding out another dominant day for the tricolor team on the European circuit.
