Royle, too, leaves behind a remarkable legacy. The Australian represented his country at two Olympic Games, finishing ninth in Rio de Janeiro (2016) and thirteenth in Tokyo (2021). Earlier in his career, he captured the U23 World Championship title, marking him as one of the sport’s brightest young talents of his generation.

With their retirements, both Currie and Royle close impressive chapters in triathlon history – two athletes whose performances, professionalism, and passion have inspired a generation across Oceania and beyond.
