February 2026: These Are the Races to Watch This Month

Challenge Wanaka (Archive picture: Challenge Family)

While last month already treated us to a handful of enjoyable races – with Challenge Sir Bani Yas as the clear highlight – January was, overall, a fairly quiet start to the year. That calm doesn’t really change in February. The triathlon world traditionally awakens slowly during the first two months of the season, but there is still plenty to look forward to. Below, we’ve listed the races you can enjoy this month, broken down by major organization.

Ironman

  • February 14: Ironman 70.3 Muscat Middle East Championship (no pro field)
  • February 22: Ironman 70.3 Colombo (no pro field)
  • February 22: Ironman 70.3 San Salvador (no pro field)

Challenge Family

  • February 21: Challenge Wanaka

World Triathlon

  • February 13: Africa Triathlon Cup El Galala
  • February 27–28: 2026 World Triathlon Winter Duathlon Championships Padola
  • February 28 – March 1: 2026 World Triathlon Winter Championships Padola

XTERRA

  • February 28 – March 1: XTERRA South Africa

Although the professional calendar remains relatively light, February still offers a diverse mix of racing – from classic middle-distance events to winter championships and off-road action. A calm before the storm, perhaps, as the triathlon season slowly but surely begins to build momentum.
