Emma Pallant-Browne just took a big win at the Ironman 70.3 Luxembourg. The British athlete was already in front after the bike part, but really attacked on the run. That saw Britain’s Lydia Dant settling for second place (+7:24), while Italy’s Marta Bernardi completed the podium (+10:38).

Being only five seconds behind the first woman out of the water – that was France’s Justine Mathieux – Emma Pallant-Browne found herself in a great position when starting the bike part. Together with Dant, Pallant-Browne completed the bike part, noting a time of 2:25:55 hours over 90 kilometers. Dant and Pallant-Browne were more than six minutes ahead of the rest of the field when they racked their bikes back in T2.

On the run, Pallant-Browne was off. Halfway through the run, she had an advantage of nearly four minutes to Dant, who was still in second place. After 4:17:43 hours and a half-marathon of 1:19:32 hours, Pallant-Browne claimed the victory. Dant maintained her second place, while Bernardi settled for third.
