Lionel Sanders: ‘Can’t do the things I did when I was 24 but I also don’t need to do the things I did back then’

Age is just a number, it is sometimes said. Of course it is, but within the world of elite sports, that number is often a measure of the capacity athletes still have to get the most out of their own bodies. As the years begin to count, it gets more difficult for the average professional athlete to beat the new batch of younger elite athletes. Lionel Sanders, now 35, looks at the passage of time, among other things, in the video below. “Anyway you slice it, I’m 35 now. I can’t do the things I did when I was 24 but I also don’t need to do the things I did back then, because some of the things were stupid and not supported by science at all.”
