The news is out: Kristian Blummenfelt will race Challenge Roth for the first time in 2026. And the Norwegian superstar is heading to Germany with a clear objective – victory.
Blummenfelt, who has claimed Olympic gold and world titles across WTCS, Ironman and Ironman 70.3 racing, has won just about everything the sport has to offer. The one glaring omission from his résumé? Roth. That can change on July 5, when he lines up at one of triathlon’s most iconic events.
“I’m here to win, but I know it’s going to be a hard-fought battle!”, Blummenfelt said. “It’s maybe the most special race we have in the sport. I’ve always wanted to compete at Challenge Roth, so I can’t wait to race. Riding up Solar Hill and running into the finish line stadium is going to be an amazing experience.”
Over the past few days, Challenge Roth has gradually unveiled its professional field, and it is shaping up to be a blockbuster. Among those already confirmed are Frederic Funk, Arthur Horseau, Denis Chevrot, Ben Hoffman, Fenella Langridge, Alanis Siffert, Kristian Hogenhaug and Menno Koolhaas.
