Age Group athletes can register for the Xterra World Championship starting on Jan. 6, 2021 at 11 AM Hawaiian time. The well-known off-road triathlon is held annually on the island of Maui, and will take place on Oct. 31, 2021. Athletes won’t need to qualify for the 2021 version of the event – slots are available to any athlete that registers in time.

“The limited number of slots sell-out in a matter of minutes. If the At Large entry shows full, please list yourself on the free ‘Waiting List’ option that will also be offered,” writes Xterra.

Covid-19 cancellation policy

Xterra also announced the COVID-19 cancellation policy. If athletes cancel before August 31, 2021, they will receive a partial refund of $125. There will be no reimbursement for cancellations after Sept. 1.

In case the event cannot take place due to COVID-19 restrtictions, athletes will be given the option to either receive a full refund (less registration fees), or to transfer their entry to the Xterra World Championship in 2022. Athletes that test positive for the coronavirus within ten days before the event will not be allowed to participate. They will also receive a full refund (less registration fees).

For those who prefer to avoid all of these risks there is the opportunity to insure your entry with an “Active Refund.” Those who choose to purchase this insurance have the option to cancel up to 48 hours before the start and still receive a full refund.
