Earlier this month professional cyclist Tom Pidcock took to Instagram to report a remarkable running feat: 5 km in 13:25. The young Brit, who has shown prowess in both cyclocross and road cycling, was criticized for his Strava post, which sent the endurance sport community into a frenzy. A notable skeptic of the effort by Pidcock was Canadian professional cyclist Michael Woods, a sub four-minute miler himself.

Woods, who transitioned from running to cycling, went on to credit the youngster for his effort as he highlighted the athletic versatility Pidcock showed in his off the bike effort.

While Pidcock claimed he might go for a second 5km effort, it has yet to happen. As the world waits for a more credible time from Pidcock, he has been in hot water from training file skeptics…
