French cycling hero Thomas Voeckler tried out the sport of triathlon in 2019 – he took part in the Ironman 70.3 Tri-Together in Les Sables-d’Olonne, where he rode in a relay and set the fastest bike time. This year he plans to do the entire race at Ironman 70.3 Les Sables d’Olonne.
Voeckler, who became a national hero in France by winning the mountain classification in the Tour de France, as well as four individual stage wins, did not rule out taking on the swim and run in addition to the bike two years ago, and is now putting his money where his mouth is. Voeckler is currently team manager of the French national cycling team.
Ironman 70.3 Les Sables-d’Olonne is scheduled for July 4.
